New report: Comparison of two test methodologies for fire testing of façade systems

In the study "Comparison of two test methodologies for fire testing of façade systems” a façade system was tested in two different test methods. The first test was conducted in accordance with SP Fire 105, the most commonly used fire test method for façade systems in Sweden and Norway. The second test was conducted in accordance with the new European test method that is currently under development.

Both tests were conducted in RISE's large fire test hall in Trondheim, Norway, and monitored using various instruments to measure temperatures and visible flame height. The behaviour of the façade system during the tests was also visually observed and recorded.

The façade system fulfilled the requirements according to SP Fire 105. The damages in the European test, however, were assessed to be large. In the draft proposal for the European test, no performance criteria were stated.
