New report: Solar cell technology and fire safety

The use of photovoltaics (PV) in Norway is increasing, as there is an increased focus on green and renewable energy solutions. In this study, fire safety challenges of PV technology are studied. Fire ignition, fire spread and fire extinguishing are investigated.

The study forms a knowledge base for safeguarding fire safety during assembly, operation and during firefighting efforts, and to form unified and clear regulations.

The project is funded by the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) and the Norwegian Building Authority (DiBK).
More information can be found in the full report, which is in Norwegian only.
