Fire safety research center application

We are proud to announce that today, we submitted our application to the Research Council of Norway to establish a research and innovation center for fire safety in Norway, together with SINTEF and NTNU.

“This will be a very exciting project, and there is a large need for research in the field of fire safety”, says research manager at RISE Fire Research, Anne Steen-Hansen.

She points to many different areas where there is a need for more knowledge on fire safety, for example electric vehicles, photo voltaic cells, high rise timber buildings, fire safe dwellings, equipment and safety for firefighters.

The center is called Fire Research and Innovation Centre (FRIC), and the expected start-up if we receive the grant is spring 2019.
